UWECO has been an approved diver training agency since 2009.
Its new, ground breaking range
of Discovery MkVI recreational rebreather programs
were approved in 2010.
In February, 2009, UWECO (Underwater Ecosystems) was approved by the HSE as a recreational diver training agency. HSE placed UWECO on the “List of approved diving qualifications”. View the HSE approval letter. HSE is the UK Government’s Health and Safety Executive responsible for these approvals.
In December 2010, HSE approved UWECO’s range of recreational rebreather courses. These were designed and authored by the UWECO founder, Ian Forster. UWECO’s Discovery MkVI courses were the first to be approved in the UK by HSE.
In January 2011, Poseidon approved UWECO’s range of recreational rebreather courses for their Discovery MkVI. They awarded only the second ever certificate to be issued. View the Poseidon certificate here. It is proudly on display above the bar at UWECO’s head quarters – the UK’s National Inland Dive Site, Gildenburgh Water.
In December 2011, PADI recognised UWECO’s range of recreational rebreather courses for the Discovery MkVI. PADI is the world’s largest, and most popular diver training agency. After a vetting process lasting nearly 10 months, PADI included UWECO’s range of rebreather courses for the Discovery MkVI on their international list of equivalent qualifications.
